The National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) was established in September 2005 by Royal Decree number 63, promulgated on 26th September 2005. Effective this date, NOGA assumed the role of the oil and gas regulator in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Authority is in charge of the organization, planning, supervision and the execution of the master strategy to secure the energy needs for the Kingdom. NOGA has also been entrusted with the task of developing the oil and gas sector and the related industries in the Kingdom.

NOGA is committed to the realization of Bahrain’s 2030 Economic Vision and has formulated its future strategies in conformity with it because the energy security and sustainability is the backbone of the development of the various economic sectors in the Kingdom. Therefore, NOGA will continue to play a vital role in attaining the Government objectives over the short, medium and long terms.

Mission

To regulate, oversee and develop Oil and Gas and related industries in the Kingdom of Bahrain with the aim of:

  • Providing general policies and strategic direction
  • Securing sustained supply of Oil and Gas to meet existing and future requirements.
  • Maximizing return and contribution for the growth of National Economy
  • Effectively optimizing utilization of resources and encourage utilization of alternate renewable energy
