BCI Asia Business Continuity Awards

Business Continuity Newcomer of the Year category The Winner is Hassan Al-Alawi / nogaholding 

Hassan Al-Alawi, Manager Technical Performance & Excellence of The Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding) recently won the award of the Business Continuity Newcomer of the Year. The award was presented to Hassan by BCI (Asia Chapter) at the Awards Presentation Ceremony held on 2nd November 2012 at Megu Hall, Singapore. This prestigious award accords recognition to an individual who has recently assumed the role of business continuity practitioner or manager and has demonstrated outstanding performance. 

The event was organized by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and Business Continuity Planning Asia Pte Ltd (BCP Asia). BCI is the World’s most eminent Business Continuity Management Institute recognized as representing best practice and professionalism. The BCI currently has over 7500 members in 100+ countries active in an estimated 2,750 organizations in private and public sectors; whereas BCP Asia is the leader in Business Continuity Management training and consultancy services in business continuity management and aims to promote and increase the business continuity awareness and development in Asia Pacific. The awards are given to recognize and honor the industry’s “best and brightest” in business continuity management. 

The BCI Asia 2012 awards were open to all individuals and organizations actively practicing Business Continuity Management in the Asia Pacific (including Australia, Japan and New Zealand) as well as in Africa and Middle East. 

About the award: Business Continuity Newcomer of the Year Category 
This prestigious award accords recognition to an individual who has recently assumed the role of business continuity practitioner or manager and has demonstrated outstanding performance. Main eligibility requirements to win the award are: 

  • At least six (6) months but not exceeding two (2) years of experience in implementing business continuity project or related services – either as a project manager, department coordinator, supporting personnel, service provider or consultant
  • Currently engaged in the of business continuity or other related fields
  • Exhibit outstanding qualities in running a BCM project, such as formulating and implementing new ideas for further improvement of the project
  • Has managed to complete any of these phases: Project initiation (including policy development), Project Manage, Business Impact Analysis, Risk Analysis, Training and awareness, Strategy development, Exercise, Maintenance and Audit.
