The lube base oil plant is located at the Sitra Refinery and started operations in October 2011. Bapco leases the site on which the lube base oil plant is situated to Bahrain Lube and provides hydrocracker unconverted oil and hydrogen as feedstock to Bapco, who in turn supply the feedstock, in proportion to their respective shareholding, for processing at the lube base oil plant. The lube base oil plant is owned by the shareholders of Bahrain Lube in proportion to their respective shareholding.
