Bahrain LNG was established in 2015 with the purpose of designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, and operating the Bahrain LNG import terminal that comprises of an offshore LNG reception and regasification facility, a gas pipeline and an onshore receiving facility in Bahrain.

nogaholding owns 30%, while the other shares are owned by Teekay LNG Operating LLC (30% of shares) Gulf Investment Corporation GSC, the venture capital arm of The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and owned equally by the governments of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE (24% of shares), and Sam Gulf Investment Limited (16% of shares), which forms part of the Samsung Group.
