Group Chief Executive

Mark brings over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry to nogaholding. Prior to joining the company, Mark served as the Head of Group Chief Executive’s Office working as chief of staff to bp CEO Bob Dudley.  Mark stewarded bp’s executive processes and worked directly with the executive team and Board of Directors where he had oversight of investment governance and strategy development.

Previously he has served as a regional president of bp’s North Sea business, in which he transformed the core business to improve profitability by doubling production in a period of five years. Earlier Mark was the Vice President of Operations at bp Azerbaijan, where he was the operational leader for one of bp’s top three global business, accountable for the safe and reliable operation of two mega-fields, that produced one million barrels of oil equivalent daily.

Mark began his career as a Project Engineer for Amoco Canada and was a Commercial Negotiator for Amoco in Trinidad & Tobago when the company merged with bp in 2000. He holds a B.S degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in Canada and an MBA from European University in Antwerp.

Group Chief Financial Officer

As the Group Chief Financial Officer, Hayam Alawadhi is responsible for the financial control, procurement and cash management of nogaholding company. She brings extensive experience in financial accounting, management reporting and strategic planning across various sector, and has held several leadership roles in public and private sector companies.


Prior to joining nogaholding, Hayam was appointed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to serve as the Secretary General of the Bahrain Tender Board. She also served as Executive Director-Corporate services at The Economic Development Board overseeing Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources and Administration. Prior to that Hayam worked on setting up the Constitutional Court. Her career started in Bahrain National Oil company as Internal Auditor and then assumed many other responsibilities within Financial Accounting Department.


Hayam was a former Board member of the Bahrain Tender Board, Gulf Air Holding Company, Chairwoman of Gulf Air Holding Group Audit Committee and other government committees. She is currently a member of the Tamkeen Audit Committee and National Bureau for Revenue Grievance Committee. Hayam is a Certified Public Accountant from the Montana State Board of Accountancy, USA, and holds a BSC in Business Administration (honors) from the University of Bahrain.

Nouf Al-Sowaidi

Group Chief Human Resources Officer

Nouf Al-Sowaidi has over 19 years of experience in Human Resources across several industries including the public sector, financial services, telecoms and aviation.

Prior to joining nogaholding Nouf held the positions of Director of Human Resources at Gulf Air and Head of Human Resources at Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company where she has been instrumental in the establishment and restructuring of HR departments and policies in addition to a suite of best practices in the HR field. Nouf also established and managed her own HR advisory ‘RightSize’, which focused on helping clients set up the optimal organization to ensure continuous sustainability.

Nouf holds a B.S. degree in Management and Marketing from the University of Bahrain and her MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from NYIT as well as a Master’s degree in Management Research from the University of Bradford.

Dr. Hassan Al-Mulla

VP - Corporate Development & Portfolio Management

Dr. Hassan Al Mulla has almost 20 years of experience in investment analysis and evaluation, market research, project finance and capital markets. In his role as Vice President of Corporate Development & Portfolio Management, his main priorities are seeking and analyzing investments to maximize shareholder’s value throughout the investment cycle.

He managed the internal analysis teams for the US$ 1.0+ Billion LNG Import terminal using a BOOT structure and US$ 7.0+ billion Bapco Modernization Programme (BMP). He successfully led the raising of project debt for the construction of gas processing plant and the associated offsites of US$ 515 million in 2017 and its refinancing and increase to US$ 650 million in 2020. He played a major role in setting up Saudi Bahrain Pipeline Company (SBPC) and Bahrain Retail Company (BRC), as new subsidiaries; as well as in the negotiations that led to the formation of the group’s JVs: Bahrain Gasoline Blending (BGB) and BAC Jet Fuel Company (BACJET). Dr. Hassan was a key member of the team responsible for the launch of nogaholding group’s inaugural US$ 1billion Debt Capital Market issuance (October 2017) and the subsequent capital market issuances; including the establishment of a US$3 billion Trust Certificate Issuance Programme and its debut issuance of US$600 million trust certificates due 2029 thereunder in March 2021.

Prior to joining nogaholding, Dr. Hassan was the Energy & Petrochemical Industries Head at the Ministry of Oil (National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA)) and Engineering Expert at Qatar based Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC).

Currently, Dr. Hassan is a board member at Bahrain Gasoline Blending (BGB) and Bapco Retail Company, Bapco Tazweed (BRC). And He is BRC’s head of the Internal Audit Committee. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey, a First Class Hons Degree in Chemical Engineering (with Biochemical Engineering as a minor) from the University of Wales Swansea, and ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management from ILM (UK).

Mohamed Al Shehab

VP - Corporate Finance & Investor Relations

With over 10 years experience in banking and corporate finance, Mohamed Al Shehab’s is responsible for securing funding for investment opportunities, and setting and executing the financing strategy for the Group, as well as managing the portfolio companies key performance indicators and maintaining investor relations.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Al Shehab was a Vice President at Barclays Bank PLC, in London, United Kingdom where he served in several roles in Corporate and Investment Banking in Barclays International, including risk management, product origination, coverage, and business management & strategy for International Corporates.

Mohamed holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, U.S.A., with majors in Finance and Operations and Information Management and minors in Economics and Philosophy, awarded in 2012. He also holds a Certificate in Advanced Credit Skills, and passed CFA qualification Level 1, 2 and 3 examinations.
